You're right about changing peoples minds, when the minds are closed...
however, what I hope to do is argue to the 'swing' voter, so to speak:
Those people who are trying to make up their minds.
Also, I would hope that the decision makers in the school district would
have 'open minds' however, that doesn't seem to be the case.
The
science department was basically told that evolution was 'too
controversial' and 'belonged at the college level anyway', both
statements are (in my opinion) incorrect.
As far as damaging relationships, [my wife] ... is taking some flack
from
*her* friends about *my* letters... which is silly. But at the
same
time, I don't want to put her in the position of having to defend me
all
the time, so I'm going to tone it down a bit, and back off my
letter-writing campaign... at least for the time being.
